http://www.cafeastrology.com/fortunetellingcards.html is a good reference for using playing cards for fortune telling (like tarot).
Here is a game I used to play when I was younger. Use a ordinary deck of playing cards (take out the jokers). Pick 4 guys that you like. Take out the aces from the deck and place them in a row. Pick which ace you want to represent each of the guys you like. Then shuffle the rest of the deck. Now place a card on each ace starting anywhere you want, continue until you have no more cards.
Now that each ace had a pile of cards on it, bunch each pile individually. Take the pile (excluding the ace) and tally how many of each heart, spade, club, and diamond you have. Do that for each pile.
Hearts represents how much that purpose loves you.
Diamonds represents how rich you will be with them.
Spades represents how many friends you will have
Clubs represents how many kids you might have.
I know it’s immature, but I find it fun.

Most are frauds who do something called cold reading where they start off with vague answers and then feed off of any other information that you inadvertently give them. One might say, “you are at a very hectic time in your life” which is true for most people due to the rat race of to days society. In which case you generally say something like “that IS true, my grandmother is very sick” and they usually feed off that by replying with “I see many great changes in your family life in the near future” and thus you created your own fortune by giving the teller enough information to create it.
However there are several ones that I’ve seen that haven’t cold read and gave me very specific fortunes and they’ve come true. You just have to be careful who you pay and what information you give them.

I wouldn’t say that most are frauds, I would say that all are frauds. As for not meeting someone right for you for another two years, the fortune teller is playing the statistics game: how old are you ? and how old are most women when they meet the “right” man ? would you say there‘s a 2-3 year difference….?
Anyhow he/she can’t lose: if you meet someone before 2 years, she would say he’s not the right man, or she could even say that she was only off by a few months. If you don’t meet anyone in 2 years, she would say that you met him but failed to recognize him. One way or another she will find a way to prove herself right.

Some are very good at guessing.
Some are awful.
Some are really psychic.

One true to their craft/gift/skill would never profit from it. FYI When someone is young and looking for a mate it is a good probability they will find one w/n 2 years.
