Most book stores sell tarot cards with instructions. You just have to memorise the meanings of each card, and the meanings of the positions they can be placed in, then use you own intuitive abilities to read what they are saying. Practice, practice, practice; it’s very addictive.
Although, be warned, supposedly it is bad luck to buy tarot cards for yourself, they should be a gift.

Everyone has thier own style of reading. Don’t follow anyones to the T. Definitly get a book and learn what you can by discussing it with others. A simple formula I use is just based on the suits and the numbers. The trump cards are self explanatory and will hold many meanings for you personally once you get an idea and a feel for it.
4 suits (similar to playing cards)
wands (clubs) actions, movement, doing
swords (spades) ideas, thinking, mans imposition of ideas and order on reality
cups (hearts) emotions
pentacles (diamonds) material world/ things, money
1/ Ace- begining, great, wonderful, the idea of an ace should be easy to understand
2- choices, decisions
3- creativity
4- materials (similar to the suit pentacles)
5- conflict
6- peace
7- Luck (but this may be my personal interpretation, do as you wish)
8- actions (similar to wands)
9- multiplicity, compounded, alot
10- cycles
Page (jack)- young man, learner, inexperienced
Knight (also jack)- more accomplished than the page he is involved actively in life but not a king or master yet if ever he will be
Queen- Female, mother, caring, nurturing
King- Master, ruler, power (knight is strong too), father,
Put together the suit and number to gain an idea for the card. For example the 5 of swords; conflict, ideas; 2 0f swords; choices, ideas. The pictures often seem to reinforce this idea. Picture can also give you some inspiration. Tie this into the subject of which you are asking about and let it flow, be creative but keep your head below the clouds. The trump cards are cards not in the suit and some readers only use the trump cards. These are death, the fool, emperor and so forth. The cards have obvious meanings but don’t take them literaly. Death is not death but ending, like leaving a job or your car breaks down, a period/ phase in life is over. Some may seem obscure to you like the hierophant, he was an old school religious leader from way back. Think of him as the pope or a priest but don’t hate on him and try to be fair. Similarly don’t love the fool, he can be a fool sometimes. Read whatever you can, practice, discuss with others and generally learn through your own life and experience with the cards.
And also there are different formations to use with the cards and once you get a feel for some basic spreads/ lay outs you can make your own. Most common is the celtic cross.

If you have never used cards before, a good step first is to find a deck that you are drawn too. Be it for the artistic value, the feeling you get, or just by the way they feel when u touch them.
Then you have a choice , most card decks come with a small book about the deck and explains what each one means. Once youve leanred what each one is you can start stringing them together to do readings.
Or the alternate way is to practice with the chosen deck in an almost meditative type session where you clear your mind and lay cards out and see if any meanings come to you, or if looking at the cards in the order that they come out, see if they tell a story to you.
Either way, Ive seen people that have become great reader either way. The more you practice with yourself and with friends that will let you the better you will get.

I just got a beautiful deck of Aquarian Tarot cards illustrated by David Palladini…from Madem something’s voodoo in New Orleans. Anyway. Ive read the instructions. As lame as i sound. But ive always been interested in Taror. But now that i finally have my own, im just confused.
On what to do basically. Can someone explain on what to do when you’re reading for yourself??

Just relax and feel your way along. It’s best to do that, rather than open a book and read about someone else’s experiences with Tarot. It’s your own personal journey, and, while others can tell you about their own experiences, everyone’s experience is unique.

look! just tike the deck and place them in a table face down. this table need to have a white cloth on top. then one be one you take the card but before you look at it fill the energy on that card imaging what that card is and place it on the table. when you see the card look to see if what you felt was what that card is. then try to see a meening to the picture on that card.

A Tarot deck usually has instructions. I use a deck to generate characters for stories.

ask a question and then pick at random three cards the first represents the past the second the present the third the future, try and link them together by using a story then see how this story might aply to the question asked.
you can try a library or a bookstore for books on learing to tarot cards
Get a book from your library, but it won,t be in code, it will have real words in it.

If you’re really serious about understanding this art, the BOTA course is superb. It takes several years to complete the course but you’ll be amazed at what you’ll gain from the study.
Try reading your bible. John 3:3 first, most of life answers are in this book no cards needed.
